It was long slow day of travel. Both I-495, the outer outer belt around Boston and I-95 North of there through New Hampshire and into the Southern part of Maine. It was stop and go over and over again. Everyone and his mother was on the road with us. We got off to get gas and thought we'd give US 1 a try. Big mistake. It goes through the seacoast resort towns and it took forever to make headway. Getting through the town of Ogunquit, ME was excruciatingly slow. We got back on the Interstates and I-295 was very decent.
Our goal for the day was the Augusta, ME area. At the end of the day we were at the Foggy Bottom Marina and Campground. It's a Passport America listed campground and the cost was $21.40 including tax. Not bad for a full hook-up, cable TV, and fast Wi-Fi. The campground has 12 sites with 11 of them occupied for the season. No wonder we were told we got the last site when we called in a reservation. It's a small beautiful park with the marina part on the Kennebec River.
