If it's Monday, it must be Canada.

Once again. I'm posting a day late. Wi-Fi in Canada is via the kindness of strangers or CG. Even in Calais, ME the cell towers being picked up were Canadian. One could tell because the cell phone time was Atlantic. We truly don't want to pay those roaming rates.

Entering Canada, for no good reason, has become a nervous thing. We don't seem to have gotten over the time in 2005 when the Tsing-Tsing's food was confiscated (for possible mad cow disease) and we paid some $15 import tariff on a 5 liter box of wine that cost $12. No problems at all this time.

We travelled across New Brunswick and into Nova Scotia. Our first tank of gasoline was not very pretty. $142.50 for 129.4 liters (34.2 gal). The Canadian dollar is 98 cents US, so it's close to par. That's about $4.08 /gal.

Our plans to stay at a provincial park in Nova Scotia did not pan out very well. We stopped at two near our route, but they had no camping and were both day-use only. Turns out that the POIs (points of interest) files that we loaded into our Garmin did not carry forward that information. So, we had to backtrack a bit and use the Harbor Light CG near Pictou, NS.
